Music

As a songwriter and musician, Michael composes songs, plays many instruments and forms some music projects. So far, he has composed more than six songs, played a kendang-ketipung-kempul (percussion), guitar, and bass, as well asformed a protest music project, two dangdut music projects and a jazz fusion music project.

Songwritings

Michael is a full-time songwriter who focuses on composing and arranging dangdut music as well as protest songs. He is also known by his alias, Gusadit. Michael has composed and released several dangdut tracks, including "Baper"(January 1, 2019), "Sekadar Saja" (January 30, 2024) with OM Jarang Pulang, and the latest one "Gila Aku" (December 7, 2025) with OMJP Hub. He also released the protest songs, "Saling Jaga!" and "Mereka yang melawan", came out on October and November. He is currently writing and producing songs with Yarra Irama, OMJP, and mkl.hb.

Yarra Irama

Michael is a founding member of the Melbourne-based Dangdut Koplo group, Yarra Irama. This band was formed in April 2024 by Indonesians and Australian musicians. Yarra is the name of the most famous river in Melbourne, Yarra; and Irama, an Indonesian word that means rhythm as well as is associated with the king of dangdut, Rhoma Irama. They performed more than five stages around Australia. Recently, they are in the process of composing songs. They release songs, for instance: "Touch On" (2025), "Dangdut for Everybody", "Hi Dangdut", "Ode Perantau" (Forthcoming). Hit us up on Yarra Irama's social media accounts below:

Michael adalah salah seorang pendiri grup Dangdut Koplo yang berbasis di Melbourne, Yarra Irama. Grup ini dibentuk pada bulan April 2024 oleh paduan musisi Indonesia dan Australia. Secara etimologi, Yarra merupakan nama sungai paling terkenal di Melbourne, Yarra, dan Irama, sebuah kata dalam bahasa Indonesia yang berarti irama sekaligus dikaitkan dengan raja dangdut, Rhoma Irama. Mereka telah tampil di lebih dari lima panggung di Australia. Baru-baru ini, mereka sedang dalam proses menciptakan lagu. MKL HB

MKL HB is a dangdut music proejct of Michael H. B. Raditya. Also, MKL HB is an acronym for Michael H. B. Raditya. This project was launched in January 2024 to criticise the conditions of Indonesia through dangdut music. The first single, "Sekadar Saja", was released a week before the Indonesian presidential election to respond to the cunning of Indonesian politics. His latest song is "Saling jaga!" on 20 October 2025.

 

MKL HB merupakan proyek solo musik dangdut sekaligus akronim dari Michael H. B. Raditya. Proyek ini diluncurkan pada Januari 2024 untuk mengkritisi kondisi Indonesia melalui musik dangdut. Single pertama, "Sekadar Saja", dirilis seminggu sebelum pemilihan presiden Indonesia untuk menanggapi kelicikan konstelasi politik Indonesia. Lagu terbarunya, "Saling Jaga!" dirilis pada 20 Oktober 2025.

OMJP

OMJP is a Yogyakarta-based music group that blends various genres—dangdut, rock, and pop—into a sound crafted to resonate with your ears and your heart.
The group originally emerged as O.M. Jarang Pulang, an Orkes Melayu (Melayu Orchestra) or modern koplo band formed in 2018 by Michael H. B. Raditya. Even the King of Dangdut, Rhoma Irama, once referred to the group affectionately as OM JarPul. Since its inception, OMJP has performed widely until the Covid-19 pandemic, and has released three original tracks: “Baper” (2019), “Udarasa” (2020), and “Sajerone Sagara Sajembare Samudera”(2020). Their latest song is "Gila Aku" (7 December 2025).

Within OMJP, Michael serves as a kendang player, bassist, MC, and manager.

Beyond Project

Michael is a founding member of the Yogyakarta-based pop-jazz group Beyond Project. This band was formed in mid-2015. They performed in many events and festivals in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Gamelan Cirebon's Putra Panji Asmara

Michael is also part of Gamelan Cirebon's "Putra Panji Asmara" (directed by Michael C. Ewing from The University of Melbourne). This group was formed over 10 years ago, but Michael joined this group in 2022, particularly after he moved to Melbourne, Australia.

 The Monash Talo Balak Ensemble

Michael is also part of The Monash Talo Balak Ensemlbe (directed by Mitchell Mollison from The Monash University). This group was formed over 5 years ago, but Michael joined this group in 2025.
